Details:

It has 435 cubic inch displacement, 260 horsepower with an overhead camshaft. I may be able to work out a deal with you on delivery. I'm no aircraft mechanic but I did learn that this engine model was originally sold to the us military according manufacturer. It was also used in bell private aircraft such as beech craft, Jeff and Fokker.

This engine is nearly complete and includes the starter it missing a Stromboli carburetor 2 Bendix magnetos wires, but I have part numbers for those. Lycoming engines are also used in experimental aircraft. Many airboat pilots have adapted this model for their craft as it has a better power-to-weight ratio than the 4 cylinder engines.

The military used this model of engine in light aircraft, prototype helicopters made by bell and even a lightweight tank, but I have no history on where particular has been. I did remove the valve covers and everything is in proper order there, no broken rockers or metallic shavings.

No log books or records are available, so it comes as is, but does include a factory repair overhaul manual. It does turn over freely and the starter is functional. For sale is a 6 cylinder piston engine which in good condition externally according to the metal name tag it model o Lycoming major manufacturer of engines planes and helicopters has been building them over 80 years.
