The R-3350-26WD Wright Cyclone engine guide valve nos. 1950s is a remarkable historical artifact from the golden age of aviation. This specific part, bearing the Curtiss Radial 95 designation and the serial number 145644-Y23, was originally used in the powerful and iconic B-29 Superfortress bomber, a military aircraft from the 1940s.

The guide valves are an essential component of the R-3350-26WD engine, which is renowned for its high horsepower and reliability. The guide valves help regulate the flow of fuel into the engine's combustion chambers, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. This particular set of guide valves, with their 1950s origins, showcases the advanced engineering and manufacturing capabilities of the era.

The B-29 Superfortress, the aircraft that housed these guide valves, was a remarkable feat of aerospace engineering. With its long range, high altitude capabilities, and formidable payload, the B-29 played a crucial role in the Second World War, particularly in the Pacific Theater. The guide valves, therefore, carry with them the legacy of this significant military aircraft and the pivotal role it played in shaping modern aviation history.
